I have located a piece of equipment listed in the Stolen Equipment Registry!

Now what??

So you've found an item listed in the Registry in the used-gear department of a pro audio retailer, or in a classified advertisement, or on an Internet auction site, or even in your own studio. Here's what to do.

First, fill out the form below, which will go directly to our Registry staff. All information will remain completely confidential. We will then contact the source that originally reported the item as stolen.

You may also, if the situation warrants it, contact the local police department, or the police agency noted in the listing, and tell them what you've found. (Please fill out our form as well, if you choose to do this.)

In most cases, however, we recommendthat you do not confront the person selling the reportedly stolen piece of equipment, particularly if you do not know that person yourself. Timely notification, to us and/or the proper police agency, will help all parties concerned know about the location of the equipment and help resolve its return to its rightful owners. And that makes all of our efforts here worthwhile.
